Welcome to FIKA Cafe, a delightful gem nestled at 28 Kensington Ave in Toronto's vibrant Kensington Market. This Swedish-inspired cafe is more than just a spot for your caffeine fix; it’s a place where the rich traditions of coffee and baked goods come together in harmony.
At FIKA, the essence of Swedish culture is palpable in every cup. Start your day with one of their specialty hot drinks, like the Cardamom Latte or Beet Spiced Latte, both of which feature unique flavors that elevate your typical cafe experience. The Cardamom Latte is particularly noteworthy, enticing taste buds with its warm, floral essence—a must-try for any coffee lover seeking a twist on the classic latte. Customers rave about the incredible flavor profiles, with one reviewer, Nicole, promising that this latte is an essential part of your visit.
But it’s not just about drinks here at FIKA. Their cinnamon buns are a revelation, celebrated for their airy texture and fragrant almond paste filling. Bredgy L. describes FIKA's take on the cinnamon bun as "the superior version," thanks to the delicate balance of sweet and spiced flavors, with a crunchy top that adds an exciting texture.
If you’re in the mood for something colder, try the IPA Iced Pineapple Americano or an Iced Rose Latte, which will refresh you on a hot Toronto day. The outdoor patio is also a highlight, offering a serene escape to savor your drink while enjoying the fresh air. Satomi Y enthusiastically recommends the IPA, pointing out how perfect it is for warm weather.
The interior of FIKA Cafe is equally inviting, with a beautifully organized space that complements their thoughtfully displayed menu and delectable pastries. Phoebe Say praises the artistic vibe, akin to cafes in Montreal. The experience is enhanced by a friendly atmosphere that welcomes both first-time visitors and regulars.
Whether you’re after a cozy corner to enjoy a quiet moment or a lively spot to catch up with friends, FIKA Cafe delivers on all fronts. Every sip of coffee, every bite of pastry, tells a story of care and craftsmanship, making it a must-visit for anyone in Toronto. Give FIKA a try; your taste buds will thank you.

Follow @bredgyeats for more food photos! The superior version of the cinnamon bun, the Swedish interpretation elevates the texture with a crunchy contrast from the twisted structure and crispy coarse sugar on top, along with a springier texture from the expert handling of the dough. The strong cinnamon aromas are complimented with a floral cardamom kick, and are just sweet enough to enjoy by itself or with a cup of steaming coffee. It's thanks to FIKA that I've discovered the wonders of cardamom in their Semla. The bun feels delightly airy in your mouth, filled with a fragrant almond paste that harmonizes with the floral cardamom infused within the bread. Finally, it's topped with whipped cream that's surprisingly not too sweet.

It’s so cute and their merch is wonderful. We bought 3 bags of beans and are super happy about the way they turn out in espresso. Staff could be a little better and welcoming / giving advice.

My sibling and i popped into FIKA on our walk into Kensington market. We were initially stopped by the thoughtfully displayed menu and delicious looking confectioneries and drinks! We were further delighted and impressed to find a creatively and well organized cafe interior and cafe/bar area. The beautiful space then opened up with a room in the back featuring minimal yet comfortable seating. We decided to sit in the backyard area as it was a gorgeous day. Very reminiscent of cafes in Montréal with a bit of an artistic alley feel. Thank you for the wonderful lattes and peaceful atmosphere! We’ll be back on any of our future trips to TO

A cute little cafe tucked away in Kensington!! So small we almost missed it haha, but the aesthetic is so warm and inviting and cozy… I got an iced latte and the price was $6.50 so equivalent to Toronto coffee prices everywhere lol, but it tasted amazing and the staff was so kind and friendly too. A lot of unique drink options too if you want to try something adventurous (beet iced oat latte). But not a lot of snack or pastries later in the day. There is decent seating as well inside and outside considering how small it is, best for solo or small groups.

Cute little Swedish cafe in Kensington market. They have unique lattes like the cardamom latte and beet spiced latte, and Swedish treats such as Semla. There is not a lot of seating in the winter, but there is a front yard and backyard patio in the warmer months. The latte and sweets are amazing and the staff are very friendly.
